Hi there! I'm Andréa, and I'm a firm believer that writing "About Me" paragraphs is super awkward. "HI!! You don't know me, but I'm uber-cool!" See? Awkward. Another fun fact about me? I'm no stranger to irony - apparently I have trouble writing about myself on a blog devoted to, uh, my thoughts. And maybe a few recipes thrown in for good measure.

Moving right along. I live in southern Virginia, and I have a sweet little boy named Daniel. I smooch his cheek of chub daily, and he slobbers on mine (I tell myself they're kisses). I call him jelly-bean and he calls me mama. He's my heart.

I love gardening. It's a miracle that water + seeds + dirt + sun = food. I like being a part of that miracle. I love writing because I love thinking and it's helpful to put thoughts to paper . . . or pixels. I'm obsessed with books and own several hundred, but I've only paid full-price for a handful of them. I thrift with an ardor verging on addiction.

I love baking and cooking and sewing and all things domestic. I'm that person who will happily spend a day planning and executing a good meal. I love Scandinavian decor (wood, glass, metal, pottery) because it's refined and natural. I also love all things J. Crew, but I can't discuss it, as doing so would only make me depressed that I can't own every item they sell.
