A Birthday Cheesecake
I have a sister-in-law who bakes professionally.
I could go on an on about her adorable little bake shop or her to DIE for milano chocolate cookies, but today, I'm going to wax poetic about a certain chocolate peanut butter cheesecake she made for my birthday.
This cake, my dears. THIS. CAKE. Was the best cheesecake I've ever had. It was ethereal - rich, peanut-buttery and chocolatey. Oh, and did I mention that my sister-in-law made the recipe up? Let's pause a moment in stunned silence and feast our eyes on picture of it.
The brilliance in this cake is the layers. You can taste each one separately: the lighter layer of peanut butter cheesecake, then a milk chocolate layer, than a dark chocolate. Together, they made one perfectly balanced bite - not overly sweet, but absolutely addicting.
It pains me to say that I wasn't able to finish my slice. Like, literally pains me. It was that good.
You can find more on the cheesecake adventure on her blog, Paris is for Bakers. Do not click that link if you are hungry. Do not. You'll never forgive me.
