Stationery. I really like stationery. So much that it appears I've been making my own.
Lovely, unique envelopes. |
It proved to be too simple. See above? My creativity went nuts. Nuts, I tell you. (All those cute little red sparkly embellishments you see above came on the paper, by the way. I didn't go that nuts.)
To make your own, you'll need a few items you probably already have lying around the house:
-An envelope and card set to use as a template
-Scissors
-Double-sided tape
-A pencil
-Pretty paper
-Stamps (if you really want to go wild.)
The process is pretty simple. Carefully unfold all the tabs of the envelope. See the black envelope above? That's what an unfolded envelope looks like. Place it and the matching card on top of your pretty paper, trace, cut out, then re-assemble the envelope by folding the tabs and using the double sided tape. Slide the card into it's matching envelope and wa-la. You have your very own stationery unique to you.
A few of my favorite envelopes. |
You know that scrapbooking paper you can buy at Michael's and Hobby Lobby? They come in inexpensive booklets and often have lovely color themes and stylish coordinating prints. This is a perfect project for those. The coordinated paper makes a darling set of matching envelopes and cards - also a great gift for any stationery-lovers in your life!
