Thrifted

I've been thrift shopping. I bought a marble rolling pin for $1.50. I feel this is such a significant statement that I could stop right there, but there's more. So much more.

Fifty cents for beautifully detailed ships. These may eventually be framed and hung on my baby's wall, but for now, I'm reveling in the find.

And these. I bought these delightful hardback classics for a dollar total. Gilead - the Pulitzer Prize winner - was twenty five cents. I know. I have nary a complaint.

What's funny is that I had resolved not to buy any more thrifted books for a while. This resolution lasted all of two days.

On a completely different note, I would just like to say that I am all for the rest of the world going digital so long as it means I can have all their good books. Abundant and cheap books thrill me.

  1. that rolling pin is gorgeous. love the ship prints! i have been thinking about if i ever had to decorate a little boy room i would love to do a nautical theme. and i read gilead and it was not anything like i expected. it is slow but so worth it. i am in love with almost everyone in the book and now want to read 'home'. have you read gilead already? what about housekeeping?

  2. I'm starting Gilead, and I've never read anything else by her. But that is going to change soon, I suspect.
