Fabric Art

Dearest y'all,

I recently discovered this website and found this. And I fell in love. How cute is that fabric art? And the project is so simple!

I haven't made the fabric art yet, but I have wonderful plans to. I think I'll use this fabric. Is it not the cutest thing in the world? It was actually the inspiration for the color palette below.

The project inspired me to do something a bit different with fabric: to simply frame it. I browsed some fabric from www.fabric.com, and ordered some swatches to try out the material. When the swatches arrived, I realized they were big enough for the picture frames I wanted to use, so I didn't need to buy any additional fabric. Lady Luck smiles on me at last!

Then, I bought some inexpensive frames from Target, cut the fabric down to the exact size of the glass, and placed it on top of the glass. I put the fabric on top of the glass instead of under because it looks more relaxed. It just looked cooler.

Also, speaking of cool, if you ever do this, do it with white frames. They're such a perfect display for bright prints, and they'll knock your socks off.

I'll show you the finished product tomorrow once I hang the pictures up. In the meantime, pray they get nailed on straight. Eyeballing things is always such an adventure.

In other news, I think it's safe to say that fabric.com and I are going to have a very long and happy relationship. I hope my husband doesn't get jealous.
