I ran over a puzzle today.

No, literally. I went on a run this morning and ran over a puzzle. It was lying all over the side of the road, all shattered to pieces.
Which was strange for several reasons. First, who among you has seen a puzzle lying on the side of the road? I mean, is that something that usually gets dumped out of cars? Or maybe some puzzle fanatic couldn't finish it, got fed up with it, and tossed it into traffic in a fit of over-dramatic contempt?
I have no idea.
Anyway, it's also strange because as I was running, I was thinking of all the things in my life that worry me. I am a worry-ful person. I shouldn't be; I know it. And I'm praying daily for strength not to be anxious. But in the meantime, there are many things in my life that are quite simply out of my control.
I'm tired of trying to work my own life out. I can't fit all the pieces of my life-puzzle together. (But, oh, how I've tried.) And I, like the fictitious puzzle fanatic above, have been tempted just to throw them away in utter contempt that the pieces would not yield to my hand.
As I was running over the pieces, I realized something very simple. God knows how the pieces of my life work together. And I need to stop trying to do His job. I've tread on His dreams for my life, so to speak, through my own hubris, and I need to stop.
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
