On My Mind: Adele, Marshmallows, and Books

I think in lists. Apologies.

1. Adele is my very favorite. (So is Jennifer Garner. Non-wacky celebs make me happy.) Her voice is incredible; what I like even more is her musical aesthetic. Her music is bare bones: usually just her vocals and a piano. That restraint is so refreshing.

2. First of all, I am not pregnant. Scout's honor. When I am, however, I will be a pregnant lady who looks awesome. Not all the time, maybe. But occasionally I might have to wear some cute heels or wedges with my skinny jeans. And if I get the stink-eye from anyone who thinks I shouldn't be wearing heels, I shall non-nonchalantly walk up to them and be like, "Hey. I'm MAKING A HUMAN here. What did you do today?"

Not really. But I'll be thinkin' it.

3. I tried to make these marshmallows last Friday. It was going well until I lightly burned the sugar, which resulted in caramel marshmallows. Not bad, but not my fave.

4. A very interesting something occurred to me the other day whilst grocery shopping. And that something was this: it's more cost effective to buy several frozen pizzas than one delivery pizza. It only took me a year and half of budgeting to figure this out. Don't be like me.

5. These books. They kill me. Every . . . last . . . one. For you see, they are a deadly combination of two of my greatest loves: gorgeousness + words. Classic fiction clothed in designer binding? My budget is cowering in fear.
Penguin Classics Hardcover Collection
I only have two of these. That won't do, folks. That won't do.

Books. They are the love of my life.

Besides, um, my husband. Natch.

  2. I have "Treasure Island" and a "Tale of Two Cities." It's my secret goal to collect the whole series over the next few years.
