A Few Recipes in My Arsenal . . .

Yes. I have a recipe arsenal. Doesn't everybody? I mean, what's a serious cook without a recipe arsenal? And what, my dears, is a recipe arsenal without some extra special winter desserts?

The following winter desserts are under the "to-make" section of my recipe arsenal. They also involve plenty of butter, cream cheese, and wintry incredients like cranberries, pears, and pumpkin.

Pumpkin is so fun to say, don't you think? The fact that it's a fun word to say totally adds to the overall effect of the word. PUMPkins. PumpKINS. Pumpy-kins. Pummmmmmpykins. Sounds like a name for a four year-old's stuffed cat. I'm stopping now.

Pumpkin roulade, y'all. PUMPKIN. ROULADE.
First and foremost: Ina Garten's Pumpkin Roulade. Because, darlings, pumpkin is not just for Thanksgiving.  Pumpkin, besides being highly enjoyable to pronounce, is a positively lovely ingredient, and I'm sure it hurts the pumpkin's feelings that we don't use it all winter-round.

Secondly, Joy the Baker's Pear and Cranberry Crumble. Be still, my heart. You will have your fill of crumbly sweet goodness soonly.

Dear Joy the Baker. You are wonderful, and I adore you.

And thirdly, also from Joy, a deliciously clever recipe: Double Dipped Apple Doughnuts. Fried apples? I'm there.

Crunchy, sweet fried apples. Lurv.

What are some recipes on your "to make" list?
