Success.
The sparrows didn't eat it all the bird seed (and the wind blew off some of it), but we are definitely making progress here. I woke up this morning and there were about ten of them eating from our porch railing. They haven't touched the bird feeder yet, but I'm thinking they just need to get used to it.
I haven't seen the squirrel since I inadvertently terrified him yesterday. It involved lots of big red scary Target bags, a bit of obliviousness on my part, and a squirrel so surprised, he fell off the railing and emphatically screeched at me. I don't really want to talk about it.
The birds and I, however. We are now friends.
Just me and my six year old self being real, here . . .
At a house I lived at (what feels like ages ago), a squirrel used to come onto our back porch and lie down completely spread out on the concrete and sleep in front of our back door...like 2 feet away. I named him sammy the squirrel...
ReplyDeleteAww!! That is so adorable. Sammy is a lovely name for a squirrel.
