Thankful

 For this patch of earth,
 for these pincushion flowers,
for heart-shaped leaves and the God of love who makes them grow,
for dark, wet bark and a lilting green lichen,
for these frolicking lovelies.

  2. They are! Isn't that just delightful? I was at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens the other day and was overwhelmed by the fun names of some of the plants. Buttonbush. Bearberry Cotoneaster. Straw Foxglove. I was imagining the settlers who probably named them. Many of them are very simple, very English sounding.
