Quotes are just such lovely little synopses of life wisdom. They inspire; they give hope.
For a reason I can't quite recall, I pulled up an old Word document I had made in college. It was composed of quotes from textbooks, philosophers, writers, bloggers, classmates. It was seventy-six pages long. Seventy-six. Clearly, I should have spent more time studying.
So, here are the following from my archives. I've included pretty pictures for no reason other than the fact they are pretty. And beauty and words naturally just go together.
"There is in every true woman's heart, a spark of
heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but
which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity." - Washington Irving
"A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing
left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." - Antoine de
Saint-Exupery
"The greatest happiness of life is the conviction
that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves." - Victor Hugo
“You must understand – I don’t have to feel happy to be
happy.” - Anonymous
(I love that quote - not everything around me needs to be perfect for me to have joy.)
